Fishing Derby Official Rules
1. Fishing is to take place from the shoreline only. No fishing from boats allowed.
2. Fishing is to take place only in the designated area near the DEC boat launch parking lot on Upper Leland Pond.
3. Fishing method to be used is standard rod and reel method only.
4. Live bait or artificial lures may be used.
5. Maximum age limit is sixteen (16) years old at time of event.
6. Netting in any form is not permitted.
7. Fish caught must be of legal length and in season.
8. Wading or use of floatation devices is not permitted.
9. An official judge must verify all fish caught.
10. All judging is final and at the discretion of the officials.
11. All participants must smile and have fun.
12. Seriousness and frowns may result in disqualification.
13. Crying or pouting are strictly forbidden.

The Leland Pond Betterment Association and its Officers and Officials are not liable for any injury or loss of life or property as a result of participation in this event. By entering the participant and/or their parent/guardian accept responsibility for their own safety and assume all risks associated with participating in this event.
AT THE DISCRETION OF OFFICIALS THE DERBY MAY BE CANCELLED FOR ANY REASON.
